Barefoot DUs, really?

Sometimes I do some foolish things. Yesterday when I was working on my jump rope skill I did it barefoot. I just didn’t wanted to wear any shoes. Well not a great idea when you are a) over 200 pounds and b) using a speed rope. Something did not feel right afterwards, I had kinda a limp going one there yesterday afternoon. So I decided to take the day off today. Fortunately there was no visible swelling and after walking for a while the pain goes away. I might have to tape it on Saturday for the Warrior Dash as we will be running a 5k.

The lack of sleep is really getting to me. Cant wait for the on-call week to be over.

If I dont have to get up tonight a bunch of times I reaaaly want to get back to my CF workout tomorrow morning. This is what our new CF diggs look like.

Food choices – well the lack of sleep wore its ugly hat. And I had something from my co-workers sweets drawer.

I made the sweet-potato protein bars again. They are pretty yummy.

1 large cooked sweet potato
½ cup (125 mL) of vanilla pea protein powder (or rice protein, or casein protein powder)
1 tbsp (15 mL) of date syrup (or agave syrup or honey)
1 tbsp (15 mL) of coconut flour
2 tbsp (30 ML) of milk or coconut milk

½ bar of 90% dark chocolate for dipping

In a bowl, blend all the ingredients (except for the chocolate) together. Shape the mix into four little bars and put in the freezer for 30 to 60 minutes. Melt your chocolate in glass bowl on top of a pot of boiling water or in a small non-metal bowl, using low power, in the microwave.
Once melted, dip your bars in the chocolate until they’re fully coated. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with wax or parchment paper, or into a large plastic or freezer-safe glass container. Transfer them to the freezer for an hour, or the fridge overnight, and voilá!
